Reason #1: The Spoon Scene
I’m betting that my followers are absolutely sick of seeing me gush about this scene.
But I don’t care, and it just needs to be on this list.
I think this scene says a lot about Kirk and Spock’s relationship. It shows how perceptive Spock is of Kirk, and how he makes the effort to notice even the little things (like Kirk forgetting to grab a spoon). It shows how much Kirk depends on Spock, in both professional (not that spoons have much to do with being captain of a starship, but this level of being “in tune” with each other does) and non-professional ways. And all of this is at an entirely non-verbal level. Really, to me, this scene is the epitome of Spock belonging “at [Kirk’s] side, as if [he’s] always been there and always will.”

Seriously nothing…
I called my mom to ask if I could go pick my brother up when I get back up to Maine tomorrow and she informed me that I’m grounded. I apparently talked back to mary (her stupid, horribly mean and horrible girlfriend), or something when I was there TWO WEEKS AGO, and I’m apparently grounded for it. I didn’t even do that, though. My whole family was there, they know I didn’t do anything. I was perfectly civil to the monster…
